The Galapagos Islands are a dream experience for anyone who loves untouched nature, witnessing rare wildlife, gazing on magnificent views and taking an adventure cruise like no other place in the world.”
– Cruising To The Galapagos
Where are The Galapagos Islands?
The Galapagos are made up of a chain of islands in the eastern Pacific Ocean. They sit 600 miles off the West coast of Ecuador.

This spectacular archipelago is made up of 19 islands scattered across the bluest waters. Because it is located where three ocean currents combine into one body of water, this marine reserve has become a treasure trove of wildlife and a must see for every cruiser and naturalist around the world.
Why Go to The Galapagos
What makes The Galapagos so unique is the absence of human predators. The wildlife there is not afraid of humans. You can actually swim with the penguins or walk among the sea lions and they will not hide away!

Like the wildlife, the native flora, the waters and the land are completely protected within The Galapagos National Park Service. The plants you see will be just as unique to The Galapagos as the Blue Footed Booby! They have withstood the test of time.

History Of The Galapagos
Almost 500 years ago, in 1535, the bishop of Panama discovered the islands when he set out from Panama on his way to Peru. The wild currents that are known to converge on these islands pulled his ship where he never expected to be. And history was made.

Filled with whales and sea lions, marine iguanas and the famous giant tortoise, the islands were not just a discovery but a treasure trove. In no time it became a refuge for pirates and a stop for those who profited from the wildlife they found.
Charles Darwin and The Voyage of The Beagle
When you sail to The Galapagos you will follow in the footsteps of the famous Charles Darwin. It was after he sailed to these islands in 1835 aboard The Beagle and saw the wildlife present that he was inspired to develop his Theory Of Evolution.
To this day his Origin Of the Species and his profound observations from the islands has linked him forever with The Galapagos.

Galapagos National Park
97% of what is known as The Galapagos is designated as Ecuador’s Galapagos National Park. The entirety of the Islands are National Park and the ocean surrounding it as a Marine Reserve.

In 1979 UNESCO declared The Galapagos a World Heritage Site and Natural Heritage For Humanity. The mission is ““to provide the knowledge and support to ensure the conservation of the environment and bio-diversity of the archipelago of Galápagos, through scientific research and complementary actions.” The Charles Darwin Research Station is at the center of the protection and care of The Galapagos National Park.

On these magical islands you will experience wildlife and flora that you can not see anywhere else in the world. You will have an adventure that you will remember for a lifetime.
